The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, March 2, 2003 Lenore H. (Patterson) Champ, 95, died Feb. 22, 2003 in Payson, Arizona. She was born in Celina, Ohio, and came to Arizona in 1910 with her parents, Kenneth and Myrtle Hellwarth. Mrs. Champ was a graduate of Broadoaks College in Pasadena, Calif. A long time Phoenix resident, she was employed by the State of Arizona as a Social Worker and also served as the Executive Director of Cactus-Pine Council of Girl Scouts for several years. After her second marriage to Charles Champ in 1952, they made their home in Boise, Idaho until his death in 1977. Mrs Champ returned to Arizona in 1986 and has been a resident of Payson since 1996. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Ayers (Al) of Payson, grandsons Ken Ayers of Chandler, & Steve (Sue) Ayers of Camp Verde, Az.; granddaughter, Susan (T.J.) Jordan of Glendale, Az. and great-granddaughters Marsha Ayers of Santa Cruz, Ca. and Melissa, Rebecca and Vanessa Jordan of Glendale, Az. She was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Martindale. Cremation arr-angements were handled by Messinger Payson Funeral Home, and a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunnday, March 2, 2003 at Powell House, 806 W. Longhorn, Payson, Az.
