The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, March 2, 2003 Elsie Mae Ferguson, better known as (Tootie) to her family and friends, was born in Phoenix, Arizona on Dec. 23, 1939. She passed away at her home in Prescott Valley on Feb. 27, 2003. She is survived by Quentin (Sam) Sisney, companion of 23 years; son, Robert Kevin Ferguson of Mesa; mother, Hazel Irene Kimes of Wittmann, Ariz.; brothers, Raymond Eugene Kimes and James Edward Kimes, both of Phoenix and James Allen Kimes Jr. of Prescott Valley; sister, Patricia Kunze of St. Paul, Neb.; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, James Allen Kimes, and her sister, Carol Jean Young. Elsie moved to Prescott Valley in 1992 from Phoenix. She enjoyed her home and loved to be outdoors. In November 1998, she was diagnosed with cancer. From that time she has courageously fought the battle against cancer. Elsie Mae was very much loved and will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Elsie on Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at 10 a.m. with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to services at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 East Dana Drive in Prescott Valley, with Father John Shetler officiating at the service. Graveside services will follow at Heritage Memorial Park, 12000 Redwood Lane in Dewey, Az. Memorial contributions in Elsie's name are suggested to the American Cancer Society, YRMC Hospice, and St. Vincent De Paul, St. Germaine Catholic Church Branch.
