CHILSON, Warren

Arizona State Miner (Wickenburg) Saturday, March 6, 1926, p 8 c 2 Warren Chilson accidentally shot himself at the home of his mother, Mrs. Emily Chilson, on East Eighth street at 2:00am Thursday. The young man had just returned from Mesa, where he had been attending a dance at the Rendezvous. In retiring for the night it is thought that he accidentally discharged the 45 automatic that he had kept under his pillow, the bullet entering the right temple. Mr. Chilson had been contemplating night prowlers that had been bothering in that neighborhood during the past few weeks. The news of the tragedy was a shock to the community, as the Chilson family is one of the highly respected families of this valley. John Chilson, the father, died two years and two months ago to the date of Warren's death. Mr. Chilson is survived by his mother, Mrs. Emily Chilson, sisters, Mrs. Dr Robert Eaton of Phoenix, Mrs. Wm. Carpenter and Mrs. Roy Pemberton of Wickenburg, and two brothers, Bert Chilson, who was home at the time of the tragedy, and Chas Chilson of Payson, Arizona. The body will be laid to rest in the family plot at the Evergreen cemetery in Phoenix.
