FRIEND, Paul Edgar


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, March 2, 2003 Paul E. Friend, 95, of Scottsdale, Arizona, went to be with the Lord Feb. 25th, 2003. Born Nov. 29, 1907 in Philadelphia, Penn., he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Metallurgy. He retired after 30 years of employment with Mobil Oil Co. in 1972. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and Scottsdale Bible Church. In 1934 Paul married Elizabeth Parlette who predeceased him in 1984. He married Regina Gray in 1993. She survives as do a son Paul E. Jr. (wife, Anna M.) and a daughter Mary L. Durboraw, (husband, I. Newton). A second daughter, Elizabeth A. Stewart (wife of Warren H.) predeceased him in 2002. A stepson Scott Gray, stepdaughter Carol Brown (wife of Michael), four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5th, 2003, in the Chapel at Scottsdale Bible Church, 7901 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, Az.
