Arizona State Miner (Wickenburg)
Saturday, March 13, 1926, p 1 c 1
J. H. Black, 57, a health seeker, shot and instantly killed himself early Thursday evening at his home.
Black had made careful preparations for his death, having purchased a .41 calibre revolver a few days before and placed enough money in one of the banks to defray his funeral expenses. He even had endeavored to buy a lot in the cemetery, it is reported.
Black had a number of times stated that he intended to take his life, but his remarks had not been taken seriously.
