JENNINGS, Henry B.


Henry B. Jennings III, 82, of Leisure World, passed away June 27 2002. He was born April 7, 1920 in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he grew up. Services will be Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Melcher Mortuary, Mission Chapel 6625 E. Main St, Mesa. He was fortunate to have had two true loves in his life. He met and married Marianna Fink in 1944. They moved to Kimball, Nebraska to begin a career in farming. They were happily married over 20 years and had three children, Cindy, Butch, and Bill. Henry later married Dorothy Halcomb, adding children, Kathie and Rob to the family. They retired and moved to Leisure World and have enjoyed over 36 years of great happiness. Henry is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughters Cynthia Smith of Scottsdale and Kathie Linn of Albuquerque; sons Henry B. Jennings, IV, and wife Kay of Missoula, William Jennings of Choteau, and Robert Halcomb and wife Donna of Denver; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Ann Walters of Council Bluffs; 3 nieces; and caregiver Brenda Donnellan of Apache Junction. When he was able, was active in the Masons serving as program chair; the Shrine as Chaplain; and Velda Rose UMC as usher. Because of Henry's great personality, sense of humor and loving compassion everyone who knew him loved him and will be left with great memories, a wealth of stories and jokes, and a feeling of betterment for having known him.
