Wickenburg (AZ) Sun Wednesday, November 25, 2009, p A-8 James H. Paris, 72, of Congress was born July 5, 1937 in Billings, Mont., to Ray H. and Bessie M. (Cook) Paris. The Lord called him home on Nov 20. Jim was a graduate of Gettysburg High School. He served in the U S Air Force during the Korean Conflict. During his work career, he gained a lot of knowledge while working in the machine shop for Black and Decker, being a long-haul and short-haul truck driver, and working in the plant at Benner Nawman. In addition he owned and operated Paris Appliance Sales and Service for many years. Jim enjoyed listening to good music, and he played guitar and harmonica. His pleasure was having "coffee with the guys" and serving the Lord. He was a founding member of Congress Community Church, and he served in any way needed since its inception in 1986. He loved people, his friendly welcoming smile and handshake will be remembered by many as God gave him the gift of friendship. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Susan E (Anderson) Paris. His pride and joy was his daughter Jennifer Sue and son-in-law David Branch,II. He is survived by his sisters Freddie Jo Fullbright of Scottsdale, Ariz; Patsy Jean Cromer of Mechanicsburg, Pa; his brother Edward R. Paris of Beverly Hills, Fla; and his aunt Vivian Johnson of Mena, Ark. A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Sunday, Dec 6 at Congress Community Church, 27420 Santa Fe Road in Congress with Pastor Tim Willis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Jim's memory to Congress Community Church, PO Box 203, Congress AZ 85332. David's Desert Chapel Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
