DAVIS, Carl


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 25, 2003 Carl Davis passed away Friday night, Feb. 21, 2003. Born Feb. 6, 1942 in Salt Lake City, he is the only son of Francis Zimbeaux and Orthia B. Davis. Carl found spirituality exploring the wilderness of the west where he was to discover some important Native American ruins which were subsequently named after him. He carried this spirit with him to Vietnam where he served his country, to Moab Utah where he held the honor of Deputy Sheriff and to Phoenix Arizona where he pursued his passion for antiques as proprietor of both the Antique Emporium stores in Glendale. Carl's final days were eased by the love and care of many dear friends, notably Donny Ng and Lannette Duncan. He is survived by his father, Francis Zimbeaux, sisters, Carlita Hilton and Lorina Manwill, many neices, nephews and cousins and his extended Native American family of Vivian and Winston Duwyenie. Carl is preceded in death by his mother Orthia B. Davis and his partner of 20 years, Danny Duwyenie.
