Highway Accident Near Here Claims Life Of Motorist
Mrs. Nora Berkheimer, age 52, and her daughter, Shirley, 32, are reported in fair condition at Community Hospital here where they were taken late Tuesday 'afternoon following an automobile accident four miles west of town which claimed the life of their husband and father, Clarence Berkheimer, age 52. The two women are suffering from multiple injuries.
Mr. Berkheimer was killed instantly in the one car accident which according to the highway patrol, occurred when their car failed to round a curve near the Flying E Ranch entrance, spun off the highway and overturned. All three were thrown from the car.
The family, which has been residing in Los Angeles, was enroute to a new home in EI Paso, Tex., at the time of the accident.
According to figures furnished The SUN by the Arizona Highway Patrol, the death of Mr. Berkheimer was the eighth highway fatality on state-patrolled roads in the Wickenburg patrol area this year.
