The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, March 2, 2003 George E. Stephens, 78, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on February 26, 2003. George was born on December 1, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He moved to Phoenix in 1957 from Covington, Kentucky. George retired in 1991 as manager of Maroney's Dry Cleaners. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Stephens; daughters, Linda Thiel, Rebecca Stephens, Patti Wiley, Cherie Hovland, Debbra McEntire, and Jennifer Hoover; son, Ernie Stephens; sisters, Martha Wagner & Lorena Ader; 17 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, 3/3/03, at 6:00 P.M., at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Sunnyslope Chapel, 614 E. Townley Ave., Phoenix. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
