Floyd Freddie Griffith born February 12, 1917, went to meet his Lord and receive his reward June 27, 2002.
Freddie was born to William A. Griffith and Margaret A. Fletcher in Morgan County, Indiana, the 6th of 10 children, Mary Gambel, Clarence, Walter, Albert, Lloyd, Charles, Chester, Lester, Billy.
He wed Clara Enola "Nola" Totton in Indianapolis, IN. To this union of 60+ years was born two daughters, Mary Ellen Dungan of Knoxville, TN andMargaret Ann Kerr of Cimarron, KS.
Freddie served his country during World War II in the 411th army anti aircraft and served Europe with the engineering corp. from 1942-1945. He gave his life to the Lord while in Europe and upon his return home he entered Kentucky Christian College in Grayson, KY to prepare for the full time preaching ministry. He graduated with honors in 1950 with his ministerial Bachelor of Arts degree. During his college years he organized, coached and played center on the K.C.C. basketball team. Freddie held ministries in Kentucky, Arizona, California, Oklahoma, Missouri and Illinois.
Freddie & Nola celebrated their 50th year in the Lord's service in 1997 while ministering at Paradise Valley Christian Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Throughout his life he was active in the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Hiram Club. He enjoyed gardening and decoupage.
His mother, father and 7 brothers preceded him in death. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Nola, daughters and sons-in-law, Mary & Norm Dungan and Maggie & Charles Kerr, 1 sister, Mary Gambel, 1 brother, Chester Griffith, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation Sunday, June 30th, 2002, at Shadow Mountain Mortuary. Services Monday, July 1, at Paradise Valley Christian Church. Memorial to Kentucky Christian College in Grayson, KY.
