He was born in Douglas County, Illinois on February 26, 1924 and was a retired custom homebuilder. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; three children, Roger Clapp, Karen Flavell and Kathy Bender; grandchildren, Ryan and Kai Murrow, Jennifer and Sarah Clapp and Marine Corporal Aaron Bender; step granddaughters, Niki Flavell and Rachel Guest and three step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, with visitation 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 5.
