DAVIS, William E.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, March 4, 2003 William E. Davis, 73, of Chandler, AZ (Sunbird) passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2003. Mr. Davis has lived in Chandler since 1996. Born July 31, 1929 in Fayetteville, TN, he graduated from high school, then moved to Chicago, IL where he met and married his late wife Emma. He served in the regular U.S. Army, Artillery Division, he was honorably discharged from Fort Custer, MI as Corporal. He and Emma then spent most of their years in suburban Chicago. Mr. Davis was an avid participant in the Knights of Columbus attaining fourth degree ranking and served as District Deputy and Grand Knight in the Crystal Lake, Illinois council. He also served in the Sun Lakes area Council. Mr. Davis is survived by two daughters: Laura of Springfield, TN, and Maria of Franklin, TN; son, Alan, Sr. of Chandler, AZ; 4 grandchildren: Marci, Anne, Dennis, Jr. and Alan Jr.; and 3 great-grandchildren: Meagan, Jason and Easton. Funeral Services will be held in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Contributions to Hospice of the Valley or to the American Cancer Society have been suggested. Arrangements by Bueler Mortuary.
