SCOTT, Ruth

Ruth Shelley Scott, 76, died May 31, 2002, in Princeton, New Jersey. Born in Snowflake, AZ, she grew up in Joseph City, AZ -- her family home located on old Route 66. She loved the open road, and traveled often through the Western states to visit friends and relatives. After retiring from accounting, she resided in Phoenix for several years. In 1999, her daughter cajoled her into moving to Princeton. She enjoyed trips to New York City and Washington, DC, as well as frequent visits to the local ice cream shops! Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Walter Clyde Shelley and Roxie Smith Shelley, and by her siblings Barbara Lubbers, Alice Rhoton, and Wendell Shelley. She is survived by her daughter, Kelley Scott, and her daughter's companion, Jeanne Olivier, and several cherished nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial service June 29, 2002, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1221 W Howe (Beck & Howe), Tempe, AZ. Interment in Joseph City will be private.
