Courtesy of Pat Wilson. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, March 6, 2003 George Robert (Bob) Alex, 67, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away March 2, 2003. Born in Boulder, Montana, Bob went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force in 1956. After moving to Arizona, he married Joan Scow of Helena, Montana in 1965. Following 35 years of service with the United States Postal Service, he retired in 2001. The outdoors is where Bob wanted to be. He deeply enjoyed NASCAR (#24), traveling, camping, and hiking with his wife and the occasional getaways to Laughlin. He will be truly missed by ALL that knew him. Bob is survived by his wife, Joan Alex, two sons, Mike and Chris, their wives Karen and Angi, three grandchildren Zachary, Katie, and Aubrie, and sister Molly Myles of Townsend, Mt. Bob requested that no services be held and the family suggests donations be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
