CAGE, Emmett Lee


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, March 5, 2003 Emmett Lee Cage...Something important happened on March 1, 2003, at 10:15 AM, in Camp Verde, AZ. It didn't make the news, stocks didn't drop, and flags didn't go to half mast, but a great man died. Emmett was born in Alvord, Texas on May 23, 1920. He and his wife, Edna Earl, moved to Phoenix, in 1940 and retired in Camp Verde in 1982. They were married sixty-two years and were blessed with five children. He was preceded in death by two of those children, Emmitt, Jr. and Eddie. He is survived by his daughter, Joyce, and his sons, Gary and John (Randy) of Glendale, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by wonderful and loving siblings, nieces, and nephews who live in Texas. Emmett was a roofer by trade, a talented craftsman, good neighbor, and a wonderful family-oriented man. He was deeply loved and will be missed. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave. Phx. Az., with the service to follow at 11:00 AM.
