France J. (Andy)
France J. "Andy" Anderson, 81, passed away from leukemia on June 21, 2002, following a two-day stay at Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix. Andy was born on March 20, 1921, in Manhattan, Kansas.
He served six years in the Army Air Corps before and during World War II. Andy spent much of his professional life in the golf business, culminating with a 15 year career at Karsten Manufacturing, Inc. (PING), before retiring in 1987.
He is survived by his wife Leona, sister Mildred and brother-in-law Trev Wilson of Sun City, sister-in-law Alma and brother-in-law Al Herowitz of Kansas City, son Bobby Anderson of Alexandria, Virginia, grandchildren Kevin and wife Inas Anderson of Rockville, Maryland, Kristen and husband Mike Gaffney of Yorktown, Virginia, and four great-grandchildren: Julia, Olivia, Joseph, and Megan.
Memorial Service will be held at the Sunset Camelback Chapel Funeral Home, 301 W. Camelback Road, on Wednesday, June 26, 2002. The Service will be followed by a gathering at Beefeaters Restaurant, 300 W. Camelback Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower, Phoenix 85014-5656. Interment services will be held at the VA Cemetery at a later date.
