Norman H. Wernecke, 83, of Tempe, Arizona, and former long time Milwaukee, Wisc. area resident, passed away February 22, 2003. Mr. Wernecke, a retired teacher, was born in Newton, Wisconsin August 7, 1919. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WW II, proudly serving his country for 6 years. Norman's teaching career spanned 40 years in the Milwaukee area, teaching at Robert Fulton Jr. High and also at M.A.T.C. where he taught G.E.D.
Shortly after retirement in 1985, Norman and his wife Eleanor moved to Arizona where he enjoyed golfing. He was a member of the Kentucky Colonels and the American Legion Post #44 in Scottsdale. Norman was a loving husband and friend to all he met.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eleanor; a sister, Evelyn (Leland) Stuckman of Manitowoc, WI and other extended family.
Services will be held at a later date in Cambria, Wisconsin.
