Daniel Lee Howell, age 80, passed away March 4, 2003. He was born January 8, 1923 and raised in Glendale, AZ.
He attended Glendale Grammar and High Schools, as well as Phoenix Jr. College.
Mr. Howell is a combat veteran of WW II, from 1942 through 1945, serving his country in the Army Air Corps as a flight engineer and top turret gunner on a B-17 Bomber.
He was an AZ Highway Patrolman for 4 years in Safford, Tucson, and Phoenix. Mr. Howell later became a construction estimator and building contractor.
He was a 50 year member of the Glendale Masonic lodge #23, Phoenix Scottish Rite, and El Zaribah Shrine. He was also a member of the Air Force Association and American Legion.
Survivors include wife of 57 years, June; son, Tom Howell; daughters, Laura Siragusa and Bobbye Olinger; son-in-law, Tom Olinger; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday March 6, 2003 from 6 to 8 PM at Paradise Chapel Funeral Home, 3934 E. Indian School Rd in Phoenix. Graveside service will be 10: AM Friday March 7, 2003 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery 2300 W. Van Buren St. in Phoenix.
