Levi Ralph Stockton, passed away March 1st, 2003. Born in Crane, Missouri on December 25, 1914.
He traveled by rail seeking employment out west, then joining the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1933-1937; then serving in the Army from 1937 - 1939. He was known as the "patton leather kid" while boxing for the Army.
He was a career bus operator starting in CA. for Greyhound, then Oakland and Minneapolis. He then drove for Valley Transit/Phoenix Transit from 1946 - 1977 being a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1433 for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife Irene Jeannette.
Surviving sons, Jeffrey & Douglas; daughters, Valerie Wilson, Colleen, Brenda, Charlene Brown and Charlotte Apperson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters. He is loved and missed by all.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 8th @ 11 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road Committal Service Shelter #1. (Pinnacle Peak & Cave Creek Roads).
