The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, March 9, 2003 Bernard Flick, 78, of Phoenix, Arizona joined his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2003. He was born in Hudson, NY on Feb. 14, 1925, the eldest of three children. His passions in school included all sports and drama. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Navy, serving as radioman first class during WWII. On Feb. 8, 1946, Bernie married his beloved Trudy, his wife of 56 years. Bernie was in the optical business for 33 years, becoming one of the first licensed opticians in AZ. Surviving Bernie are his wife Trudy; his three sons, Larry, Mark and Paul; four grandchildren and one great grandson, all of Phoenix. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 10th at 2pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4930 E. Greenway. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Arizona.
