HUSON, Kent Bramley


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, March 9, 2003 Kent Bramley Huson, 78, of Sedona, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at Bryan's Extended Care Center in Phoenix after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born June 11, 1924 in Palmyra, Illinois. Kent was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, of 55 years and by his daughter, Nancy. He is survived by his children, Stephen (Sandy) of Cottonwood; Pamela (Len) of Tucson; Bruce (Mary) of Phoenix; Jeff (Wendy) of Parker, CO; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kent enjoyed a rich, full life. He was president of his senior class before graduating from Waverly High School. While serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, Kent attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. After receiving an honorable discharge, he made his residence in Springfield where he was employed as an insurance adjuster. Kent and Rose were married in Springfield in 1947 and lived there until 1957 when they moved with their family to Scottsdale. In Scottsdale, he was co-owner of the Scottsdale Insurance Agency and was active in the Charros, Elk's Club, and the VFW. Kent and Rose moved their family to Sedona in 1971 where Kent had several business ventures until his retirement in 1986. After retiring, Kent became a permanent fixture in his son Stephen's CPA office until his death. Everyone who was associated with Kent knew how proud he was of his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. Kent enjoyed playing both basketball and baseball during his childhood and as a young adult. He continued to enjoy sports by watching his children and grandchildren play. Visitation is from 6:30-7:30 PM on Monday, March 10, 2003 at Sedona Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona.
