George Barrios Morales was born in Tempe, Arizona, December 1919 to Ramon Morales and Victoria Barrios. He was 83 years old.
He served as Master Sgt. & Sgt of the Bushmaster 158th infantry E-7 Company C in World War II in the European Theater. He fulfilled 5 years of active duty in the 3rd Armored Spearhead division in Europe and 23 years in the Army National Guard.
After the service he worked as a superintendent & foreman in underground pipeline until early retirement. He worked for Shumway, Womack, Tiffany, Fisher Enterprise, Del E. Webb, and his last major project was with Ameron involving the CAP project. After retirement, he was a cross guard for Maxine O. Bush 7 years. He served 2 years as president and 1 year as treasurer at the South Mountain Senior Community Center.
He belonged to St. Catherine of Sienna's senior parish.
George is survived by 1 brother, Raymond Morales, one daughter Connie Escobedo and one granddaughter, Melody Unique Escobedo.
George was proud to be an American. He was an advocate for the veterans, and disabled seniors. With the help of his city official friends, George spearheaded many projects and visions for the Center. His heart and soul was the Senior Center.
