Services for Floyd W. Rhodehouse, 79, of Mesa will be Thursday, June 27, 2002 at Mariposa Gardens, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ.
Floyd was born February 20, 1923 in Palo Alto, Ca.
He is survived by his wife, Vera, daughters Cindy Corbett of Loveland, Co., DeeDee Butler of Tempe, and Judy Mortensen of Ft. Collins, Co., nine grandchildren; Scott, Christine, Cameron, Sheila, Shelly, Mark, Aaron, Andrea, Alissa and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, June Gallaher and two brothers, Earl and Ray all of California.
Floyd served in the Navy as a Torpedoman First Class during World War II at Pearl Harbor. He spent many years in grocery retail in California. The family moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1963. Floyd and Vera opened Loveland Discount Center in 1964. They retired in 1986 and moved to Arizona.
Floyd and Vera were married for 58 years and lived in Leisure World in Mesa, AZ. He enjoyed playing golf every day. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family. Since his passing so many have called and said "I really respected your father. Your husband was a man of principle. He had such a great sense of humor. He was so strong and charismatic." Floyd loved his country and believed in defending it. He loved his family and believed in setting a high mark for them. His family continues in that legacy. As we reflect we can all say "Floyd was truly a great man."

Floyd W. Rhodehouse, age 79, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away June 22, 2002. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ. Services: Pending further arrangements. Arrangements handled by Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care
