The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Monday, March 10, 2003 Larry W. Campbell, 63, of Tempe went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2003 after a short illness. He was born on October 3, 1939 in Farmington, New Mexico. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1961 and received his Masters Degree in Political Science in 1963. Larry was married to his wife of 41 years, Jane Anthony, on March 24, 1962. They moved to Tempe in 1966 where he was a social studies teacher and coach in the Tempe Union High School District for 34 years. Larry was very active in the Tempe Sister Cities Organization and was president of the Tempe Historical Society. He was an active member of Arizona Community Church. He led an exemplary life as a son, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, uncle, and friend. He was loved by all how knew him and he will be missed by those whose lives he touched in 63 years. Flowers can be sent to Arizona Community Church or donations may be made to the Tempe Sister Cities Organization. He is survived by his wife, Jane, 2 children Laurie (Brian) Lange of Phoenix, Carrie (Jon) Gale of Gilbert, brother Tommy (Dorothy) Campbell of Mesa, sister Shirleen (Warren) Johnston of Artesia, New Mexico, 4 grandchildren Hillary and Grant Gale, Nicholas and Elise Lange, brother-in-law Jack Anthony of Dallas, Texas, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Glenn Campbell and his parents Idris and Wouida Campbell. Visitation for Larry Campbell will be on Monday, March 10, 2003 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Road in Tempe. Memorial services will be held at Arizona Community Church, 9325 S. Rural Road in Tempe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2003.
