Raymond P. Reed, age 83, a longtime resident of Glendale, passed away March 8, 2003. Born Feb. 16, 1920 in Waukesha, WI.
Ray was a WWII veteran, affectionately referred to as "Chief Speedy" by Air Force colleagues at Luke AFB and many other assignments. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after 30 years in the Air Force.
An active member of the First United Methodist Church of Glendale, and a past president and dedicated member of PFLAG (Parents & Friends of Lesbians & Gays) in Phoenix.
Survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Buena "Boots"; daughters, Kiki House & Kelley D'Amato; sons, Morris Floyd, Patrick Reed, Steven Floyd, & Raymond Reed II; 9 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be 6:30 P.M. Thursday, March 13th at the 1st United Methodist Church of Glendale, 7102 N. 58th Drive, Glendale, AZ 85301. In lieu of flowers memorials to PFLAG, P.O. Box 7256, Phoenix, AZ 85011, or to the church. Arrangements by Chapel of the Chimes, Glendale, AZ.
