RICHMOND, Alan Charles (Scotty)


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 22, 2002, p. A11 Alan Charles "Scotty" Richmond, 69, of Longmont, Colo., and a former resident of the Wickenburg area, died May 4 at his home in Longmont. Mr. Richmond was born March 16, 1933 in Bisbee, Ariz., the son of Louis Everett and Anna (Younger) Richmond. On April 21, 1957 he married Remona Ivie in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Richmond served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as an Air Traffic Controller and team supervisor for the FAA. The couple moved to Longmont in 1964 from Phoenix. Scott had served a number of years on the Hygiene (Colo.) Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed athletics, both participating and coaching his children. Gardening was one of his favorite pastimes and he had spent countless hours working on the families' property, planting countless trees and shrubs. Survivors include his wife, Remona; sons Mike Richmond of Longmont and Justin (Lisa) Richmond of Loveland, Colo.; daughter Sherry Richmond of Loveland; and sisters Joann Derkson and Norma Bennett of Chino Valley, Ariz. Three grandchildren, Breah Anne, Dori and Nadine, and two great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, also survive him. Funeral services were held May 8 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. Burial was at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
