The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ August 21, 2002, p. A18 Constance "Connie" (Averell) Cooley, 85, of Peacham, N.H., died Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. She was born in North Reading, Mass. On Aug. 27, 1916, the daughter of Charles W. and Helen G. (Fulton) Averell. Connie was a graduate of Colby College. She married Dwight H. Cooley on May 31, 1952. Connie retired as a clerk from the Vermont Job Service after 17 years. For the past 18 years she had been living half the year in Peacham and half the year in Wickenburg. Connie was a member of Business and Professional Women, a 50-year member of the Peacham Congregational Church where she taught Sunday School, a life member of the New Hampshire and Vermont Genealogy Society, and a member of the Vermont Historical Society. Her hobbies included traveling with Dwight, working on family genealogy, counted cross-stitch, and reading at the library. One brother and one sister, Judy Clark, preceded her in death. Surviving relatives include her husband of 50 years, Dwight H. Cooley of Peacham; one sister, Priscilla Deane of Piqua, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services are scheduled today (Wednesday, Aug. 21) at the Peacham Congregational Church. Rev. Rebecca Maccini will officiate, assisted by Rev. Neil Bradley. Burial will follow in the Passumpsic Cemetery in Passumpsic, Vermont.
