BAXTER, Robert M., D.D.S.


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Sept. 4, 2002, p. A16 Robert M. Baxter, D.D.S., 74, of Wickenburg passed away Sept. 2, 2002. He was born on Feb. 9, 1928 in Oak Park, Ill., to Robert K. and Mary M. Baxter. He graduated from high school in LaGrange, Ill. He was an Army veteran, stationed in Korea. He attended Phoenix College for one year, obtained his B.S. from North Central College in Naperville, Ill., and received his D.D.S. from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Robert married his high school sweetheart, Jane Barber. Dr. Baxter practiced dentistry in Phoenix for 40 years and was known and loved by the many patients and good friends whose lives he touched. He was a past member of the American Dental Society and the American Society of Preventive Dentistry. He was an enthusiastic car hobbyist, a charter member and past president of the MG "T" Roadrunners, and restored many vintage and classic vehicles over the years. Robert and Jane enjoyed extensive traveling. They moved to Wickenburg six years ago where he enjoyed their new home and landscaping projects. Robert leaves his loving wife of 52 years; three sons, Robert, Peter and Thomas; nine grandchildren; and two sisters in Phoenix, Ruth Hess and Janet Campbell. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 7) at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 357 W. Yavapai St. in Wickenburg, with the Rev. Jack Smart officiating.
