A18 Noma Haverly Former Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce manager Noma Haverly, 67, died Sept. 8 in Phoenix, where she had been living near her children and grandchildren. Noma was born Aug. 1, 1935 in Roseburg, Ore. She came to Wickenburg in 1971 with her late husband, Ken, and their young family. They owned and operated K&N Wholesale, a distributorship for Rainbo Bread and Carnation Dairy products and later, AV-Art, the aircraft paint shop located in the industrial airpark at Wellik Field. Noma went to work for the Chamber of Commerce as its secretary in the old Hassayampa Hogan location on Center Street (now Wickenburg Way). Under chamber manager Buck Wayne, she worked her way from assistant in 1986 to manager, the same year the chamber was making its move to the historic Santa Fe Depot. Noma was respected for her work on the restoration of the depot, as well as many successful Wickenburg Bluegrass Festival and Gold Rush Days' celebrations. She retired from the chamber in 1988. The Haverlys were active in the community through their membership in the Wickenburg Elks Lodge, and as parents with Wickenburg schools and Wrangler athletics. In addition to her family, she leaves behind many friends in the Wickenburg area. She is survived by three sons, two daughters and grandchildren including: son Rod (Marcia) Lowrance and grandson Kale, of Pleasant Hope, Mo.; son Dan (Brenda) Lowrance, and grandchildren Erik, Haley and Andrea, of Phoenix; son Larry, also of Phoenix; daughter Lori (Hugh) Fields and grandchildren Christopher and Madison, of Phoenix; and daughter Tammy (Kevin) Wilson, and grandchildren Kodie and Melissa, also of Phoenix. As per her wishes, there will be no services. Mrs. Haverly's remains will be taken back to Oregon by her family.
