Elise May Ludwig, 87, passed away Nov. 3 in Payson. She was born in Dearborn, Mich., and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She moved to Arizona in 1957, settling in Aguila and moved to Wickenburg in 1964.

Elsie belonged to the Wickenburg Art Club and the Wickenburg Lioness Club. She was co-owner of Burro Jim Motel, Wagon Wheel Motel, Sylvan Village Apartments and Stuckey and Circle K franchisee.

Elsie is survived by two daughters; Gayle Buzan, Payson and Carol Ludwig, Royal Oak, Mich.; one sister Ann Fleming, Coldwater, Mich.; grandchildren Melissa Minear, El Mirage, Anthony Renko and Linda Barton, Michigan’ great grandchildren Brian and Marianna Barton, Michigan and Jordan and Codi Stowe, El Mirage.

Husband Maynard Ludwig preceded Elsie in death.
