Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona July 3, 1996, p. A2 William Albert Bennett of Wickenburg, died June 26 in Sun City West. He was 76. Mr. Bennett was born Dec 31, 1919 in Josslyn, Neb. He had lived in Arizona for 23 years, coming from California. Mr. Bennett was a Chief Radioman in the U.S. Navy, serving 23 years. He was a veteran of World War 11 and the Korean War, and was a warded numerous medals. After retiring from the Navy, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He retired in 1972. Mr. Bennett was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve Association. Survivors include his wife, Misa Bennett of Wickenburg; daughter Rumi Bennett Jones of Plano, Texas; sister Dorothy Berry of Wickenburg, brother Lee Bennett of Montana and Jerry Bennett of Virginia; and grandson Joshua Jones of Plano. Services will be Wednesday, July 3 (today) at 10:30 a.m. in the V.A. National Cemetery, East Rotund, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. The American Legion will officiate. Floral arrangement in Mr. Bennett’s name may be sent to Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service 980 N. Tegner, Wickenburg, to be donated to the Wickenburg Nursing Home (regional Hospital Care Center) Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of all arrangements.
