Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona January 31, 1996, p. A3 Walter L. Abbot, of Yarnell, died Jan 27 in Yarnell. He was 101. Mr. Abbot was born Dec. 25, 1894 in Acworth, GA. He had lived in Arizona for one year, coming here from Georgia. Mr. Abbott was the director of the Georgia State Employment Service and was a World War I Army air force veteran. He was a member of the Acworth (Ga.) Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He is survived by his son, Walter P. Abbot of Yarnell; brother Fred of Acworth, GA.; and granddaughter Katherine Abbot of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion, in 1988, and his second wife, Georgia, in 1994. Graveside services will be held in Acworth, Ga. Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of all arrangements. In the obituary of Arthur Castro in the Jan. 3 Wickenburg Sun, a surviving brother’s name, Fred Garcia, was incorrectly reported. Also Mr. Castro was survived by many nephews, as well as nieces and cousins.
