Services at 10am on Thurs., April 3, 2003 at Carl T. Hayden V.A. Medical Center Chapel, 650 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ.

Nicasio "Casey" Iannella, 91, of Phoenix, AZ, went to be with the angels on March 27, 2003 at the Veterans Medical Center Nursing Home. Casey was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. Born in Chicago, IL on July 3, 1911 of Italian parents. He moved to Arizona in 1948 where he owned his own business and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Casey worked as a volunteer for 27 years at Perry Rehabilitation Center, VA Medical Center, and the Phoenix Boys and Girls Club. He truly touched each and every person he came in contact with. He was always there to help everyone. Especially preparing many meals of his homemade raviolis and Italian sausage. He was a cook and chef all of his life. Dad was always there for us when we needed him.
We will miss his tenacious and independent spirit, his sense of humor, his devotion to his country and his kindness to people around him. We all love you very much!!!
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edythe and son, George. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Asher (Jerry); son Dennis Iannella (Lilly); grandchildren, Jason, Kacie, Jennifer, Danny, Deena, Denise, and Wayne; great grandchildren, Brenden, Lexy, and baby Nicasio; sisters, Mary and Ann. Also survived by loved ones, Patsy Iannella; godson, Franklin Hom; Shirley Ideker and his many friends at the VA nursing home.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Veterans Medical Center Chapel, 650 E. Indian School Rd. Honor Guard service to follow at 12:30 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd.
