Evergreen Mortuary, Tucson, Arizona Dr. Joseph Geffen, 71, of Tucson, died Friday, November 27. Beloved husband of 46 years to Sharon Geffen; devoted father of Miriam (Ron) Meyers of Seattle, Felicia (Stephan) Ruskin of Albuquerque, Zev (Leah) Geffen of Israel and Malka (Kristy) Geffen of Portland; dear brother of Moses and Milton Geffen; cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dr. Geffen was born in Bogota, Colombia and came to New York with his brother when he was a young child. He attended New York University where he majored in medicine. Upon graduation he attended Albert Einstein Medical School; upon graduating, he served in the US Army as a medic. Dr. Geffen then attended the University of Iowa and received a degree in Psychology and completed his PhD at the University of Arizona. For the past 40 years he has practiced Clinical and Forensic Psychology and was an active member in the Jewish Community as a teacher and counselor.
