Rosamund "Rose" Marie Darrow (formerly Blum and Salmon), 82, passed on to her Heavenly Father's house Sunday, May 25, 2003. She fought the good fight and after a long and painful struggle with cancer, she answered God's call with her family at her side from her home in Gilbert, Arizona. She was born the middle of three girls on December 29, 1920 in Spring Valley, Illinois to Andrew T. and Catherine A. Savio. She deeply loved all of her beautiful family and delighted in spending time with them at every opportunity. She had many wonderful friends that she loved and often could be found bowling or playing bridge with them. Rose had been active in the community serving as past president of Xi Alpha Delta exemplar chapter, Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She temporarily leaves behind four sons, Richard (Judy-deceased), Thomas (Elaine), Steven (Jean), Michael (Brenda); sisters, Elizabeth Lukosus of Scottsdale, and Eileen Stefan of Seattle, Washington; fourteen beautiful grandchildren and eighteen wonderful great-grandchildren. Services are Thursday, May 29, 2003, with a viewing from 5 to 7 PM, and a vigil and sharing service from 7 to 8 PM at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 South Dobson Road, Mesa, Arizona 85202. Funeral services are Friday, May 30, 2003 at 11 AM at Saint Timothy's Catholic Church, 1730 West Guadalupe, Mesa, Arizona 85202. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Center Inc., 520 West Buena Ventura, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907, or to the charity of your choice.
