LEE, John T.

Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, March 23, 2008 Lt. Col. John T. Lee USMC (Ret.) passed away March 7, 2008. John was born to Charles K. and Mary Kram Lee on September 23, 1917, in Spokane, Washington, and was raised from the age of three by his stepmother Gertrude after the death of Mary. He was a graduate of Washington State University and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. John was a 24-year veteran of the USMC. He was a life-long advocate of democracy and preservation of freedom for all Americans. His 43-year marriage to Lillian L. Wetherell produced three children; Janet (Randy) Condreay, Diana (Bill) Allen both of Phoenix and Thomas Lee of Prescott. Lillian preceded him in death in 1985. His second wife, Charlotte, also preceded him. A resident of Arizona since 1965, John was a man of little material needs but had many friends and interests. He was an avid traveler and a fisherman who never met a fish he didn’t like. But his true passion for the past 20 years was in lapidary art where many of his friendships centered. His three children, five granddaughters and six great-grandchildren survive John. The family wishes to thank his many friends who filled his long and healthy life with enjoyment and humor, the staff at Granite Gate Resort for their graciousness and to the doctors and nurses at Yavapai Regional Medical Center for their care and kindness in his final hours. Private services will be at a later date. Information provided by survivors.
