PELISSIER,
Louis
The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona
Wednesday, April 2, 2003
Louis Pelissier ended his life journey in Phoenix, March 27, 2003; it began in France on March 30, 1909. He emigrated in 1913 with an older brother & their parents to seek a better life. With big hopes, little money & a basket of dried sausages, they crossed a country, an ocean, a continent to San Francisco.
A farm boy at heart, Louis raised dairy cattle & sheep in Santa Rosa, California. During WW II he became an electronic mechanic on submarines for the Navy, but his garden forever supplied food for neighbors & family.
A lifelong learner, he enjoyed good food, dancing, photography, & traveling. He moved to Phoenix 3 years ago to be with his loving daughter, Louise Pelissier. The last of his generation, his memory serves as an inspiration for those who follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
