PERRIN, John L. (Hard Luck John)

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona January 28, 1965 A colorful figure in the town of Wickenburg for the past 40 years is gone with the death at his home January 21 of John L Perrin, who called himself “Hard Luck John.” He was buried last Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Wickenburg Cemetery with the Rev. Bert Follmer, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church conducting the graveside services. Mr. Perrin was born 75 years ago in what was then known as Yugo Slavia, and came to the United States some 50 years ago and to Wickenburg in the early 20’s. For many years he conducted a business on Frontier Street in the building now occupied by Dr. F. A Shannon and which he still owned at the time of his death. His home was in the rear of that building. He had been in failing health for several years.
