Mouth-to–mouth resuscitation efforts on the part of a California tourist failed to save the life of a year and a half old Aguila boy who drowned in an irrigation ditch on the Bruce Church Farms near that town last Thursday morning.
The lad, Mike Guadian, Jr., son of Mr.& Mrs. Mike Guadian, Sr., had wandered away from the home of his parents on the Farms where the father is employed. When he was missed, searchers started out, according to Deputy Sheriff George Gugel who investigated the tragedy. The child’s body was found floating face up where it had been stopped by a head gate in the irrigation ditch.
Rushed to Aguila from where an ambulance was called, the tourist, Eugene Poole of Burbank, Calif., attempted mouth-to- mouth resuscitation without avail. The little boy was pronounced dead on arrival at Community Hospital here. He was an only child. The body was taken to Sacaton Thursday for funeral services and burial.
