EVANS,
Je
Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona
August 12, 1965
The many friends he made here during a residence spanning 25 years were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Je Evans, Wrangler at the Rancho de los Caballeros for the past several seasons, which occurred August 8 in the DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyo.
He had been taken there from the A Bar A Ranch at Encampment, Wyo., where he was engaged as a Wrangler, following an accident while he was riding horseback alone on the ranch.
His death followed surgery for a brain injury.
Funeral services were to be held Thursday of this week in Roswell, N.M. with burial following in the cemetery at Clovis, N.M.
Born in Stafforshire, England, July 17, 1901, Mr. Evans came to the United States and to Arizona in 1920. He was a Wrangler at Remuda Ranch here for eight years before joining the staff at Los Caballeros. He was known to hundreds of guests, both young and old, of those two ranches, having taken them on many horseback rides into this desert country. In the earlier years he participated in numerous rodeos.
He is survived by a son Donald c. Evans of Roswell and two daughter, Mrs. Sue Davis and Miss Jeannie Evans, both of Quemado, N.M. Also surviving is his father, W. H. Evans of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
