Pola Van Buren Phillips, 57, Wittmann farm worker, was murdered in Modesto, Calif. Sunday night.
Three Modesto residents have been charged with the crime after Phillips’ beaten body was found in a cabin, according to news dispatches from that city.
The three were named as Robert Morrow, 29, his wife Zoe, 21, and Thomas Blevins, 41. Modesto authorities are quoted as saying the murder climaxed two days of drinking and arguments in which six persons were involved including Phillips’ son James 22, and his wife, Sandra, 21.
