TORRES, Alberto Q.


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, March 11, 2003 Alberto Q. Torres, 86, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away March 6, 2003. He was a member of the American Legion Post 41 and an Army Veteran of WWII, a corporal with the 331st Bomb Squadron. He worked for APS for 30 years as a welder from 1948 to 1978. He also repaired and sold used bicycles in the Tempe area for well over 10 years and was well known by students of ASU college. He is survived by is wife of 22 years, Alice (Ortega) Torres of Tempe; daughters, Lydia Arnold and Vivian Jordan, sons, David and Robert Torres, sisters, Josie Chacon and Aurrora Lucero of El Paso, Texas. He is also survived by numerous loving grandchildren. A special thank you from the family to Stephanie, the angel, from Hospice of the Valley that would come by our home to see Alberto. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.
