ZACCAGNIO, Franklin

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, March 11, 2003 Franklin P. Zaccagnio, 65, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away March 5, 2003. Born in Summit New Jersey, Frank moved his family to Arizona in 1976 excited about opportunities out West. While Frank was a licensed barber, at heart he was a "career" gambler. He never passed up a chance to place a bet, or leave his fate to the roll of the dice. Known as a wisecracker, his lively personality left an impression on all who met him. He is survived by his children, Janet Knaus, Cathy Gilchrist, Marjorie Knaus and Anthony Zaccagnio, their spouses and his eight grandchildren who were the lights of his life. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Nancy Gunther. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2003 at SS. Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix. A reception will follow in Smith Hall. We will miss you, Pops. Take it one day at a time.
