Maria "Nena" R. Griego of Phoenix, passed away May 30, 2003. She was born on May 29, 1939 in Mesilla, New Mexico.
A graduate of ASU, Maria had many family and friends who loved her very much. For those that knew her, she will always be remembered as a thoughtful and caring person whose soul touched everyone's heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jesusita O. Romero. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Manuel Griego, Jr.; her brother Salvadoro Romero; sons Frank Ray Coronado and Marc Daniel Coronado; daughters Susan C. Christian and Karen Corona; sons-in-law Chad and Luis; grandchildren Vincent, Frank, Jessi Marie, Alyssa, Hilda, Raquel, Leticia, Hayley, Marc, Amanda, Luis Jr., and Jesus; great grandchildren Tasanee and Chad Jr.
Though our hearts are heavy no matter where we go, she will forever be our guiding light. One day we shall all gather again in Nana's kitchen. We love you and miss you dearly, Momma.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M. with Rosary at 7:00 P. M. on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home Chapel, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 6, 2003 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 6401 S. Central Ave., Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
