The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, April 3, 2003 Catherine J. Sweet, 62, of Mesa, passed away on March 31, 2003. Cathy was born in London, United Kingdom. She moved to Christchurch, New Zealand when she married and returned to England before moving to the United States with her daughter and settling in Mesa. For those who knew her, she had a quick wit, a keen intellect, a generous heart, and never heard a joke she couldn't remember. She lived and died with dignity and was always a lady until her body could no longer support her; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Cathy leaves behind her daughter, Sara Skousen and "son" Brad Skousen of Mesa; sisters, Maureen Cachora of Winterhaven, CA and Yvonne Allgood of Newhaven, East Sussex, U.K. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Ireland, and her father, Thomas Ireland, and her beloved four-legged children: Jodie, Tinker, Misha, and Chelsea, who have been waiting patiently for her to return to them. A memorial service will be held at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet, in Chandler at 6:30 PM on Friday, April 4. Contributions may be made to the Arizona Humane Society. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
