Patricia J. Cragg, passed away in the loving arms of her family on April 28th, 2003 in Phoenix, AZ. Born on October 17th, 1920 to Joseph Weins and Grace Frances Weins, she grew up and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in Benton Harbor, Michigan near Lake Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education at the University of Wisconsin and minored in Concert Piano. Patricia married John B. Cragg, an officer in the Army in 1945. Their son Ronald S. Cragg was born in 1947. Patricia and Ron traveled to Japan to join John on assignment with the military there. After returning to the states, a daughter Marcella L. Cragg (Marcie) was born in Virginia. The whole family moved on military assignment to Verdun, France and stayed there for three years before returning to the USA. Patricia taught frequently during these times, special classes for the army personnel. The Craggs settled in Fenton, Michigan as Patricia and John felt it an idyllic town to raise their family. Patricia began a full time teaching career in 1960, in elementary 3rd grade. She retired in 1978 after spending a couple of years teaching 7th grade. As a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fenton, Patricia has been active over the years designing program covers and preparing center pieces for special events. She was very talented artistically. Patricia was a member of the American Association of University Women and Bayview Women's Club. She delighted in belonging to several bridge clubs. Patricia adored the company of her close friends and neighbors and liked nothing better than planning luncheons and gatherings for them. Patricia Cragg will no doubt be remembered as an intelligent, humorous, strong and very kind person. A wonderful wife and mother, whose memory will always be cherished. She is survived by her husband, John B. Cragg. daughter, Marcella L. Cragg-Gavin, son in-law, Patrick J. Gavin, grandson, Shane P. Gavin. Predeceased by her beloved son, Ronald S. Cragg in 1972. A Memorial Service will be held at Sharp's Funeral Chapelin Fenton, Michigan, date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 503 S.
