Lillian Bleskan Cronin, widow of George E. Cronin, died April 27, 2003 in a nursing home in Framingham, Massachusetts, with her daughter, Lorene C. Murphy of Framingham at her bedside. Lillian was a 46-year resident of Sun City and Phoenix. She was born March 1, 1918 in Bennett, Wisconsin, one of four children of Peter Bleskan and Helen Kurcinka, Slovakian immigrants. Lillian was educated as a teacher at the University of Wisconsin in Superior, and Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley. After teaching for two years in Wisconsin, she worked five years for Northwest Airlines. She then taught in a one-room school in Wickenburg, Arizona, and subsequently taught first grade for many years in the Washington School District in the Phoenix area. She is survived by her sister Helen Bonine of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; daughter Lorene and grandchildren Jonathon, Caleb, and David Murphy; and stepsons David G. Cronin of Phoenix and John E. Cronin of Bishop, California. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 4th at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne, 11625 North 111th Avenue, Sun City. Private interment to follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
