Mary Marie Bradshaw of Phoenix was taken home peacefully on Monday, March 10th, 2003.
She left behind a loving husband, Charles; daughter, Cheryl Bradshaw; son, Richard (Connie); granddaughters, Peggy (Gary) Hinkle and Jennifer Bradshaw; sisters, Ruth Pugh, Ellen Burns, Ina B. Wacker, Alice Choate and brother, Charles Wayne Smith.
Born in Mt. Vernon, Texas on April 24, 1924. She talked much of the good times on the farm, at school, & with her family. She moved to Peoria in 1942. Part of her family was already in Peoria and the rest came out later. Her sister Ruth, introduced her to Charles Bradshaw. Charles thought she was a very beautiful Texas girl, and after a whirl wind courtship they were married Dec. 9, 1942 and honeymooned at the Grand Canyon.
Her husband was inducted in the Army Air Corps in February and Mary became a service man's wife at age 18, & traveled around the country by herself & worked just to eat.
She was a member of the Camelback Mountain Lions Club. She was a lifelong dedicated volunteer for the Children's Hospital, Lions Club, Young Phoenicians, etc.
Mary was a dedicated wife & mother, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation 5-8 p.m., Friday, and funeral service 10 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2003 at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, Az.
Interment following at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, Az.
