Dr. Robert Frederick Brennan, 86, passed away at his home in Phoenix on April 1, 2003.
Bob was born in Winslow, Arizona, to parents Roy and Bonnie Brennan, on on December 1, 1916. He graduated from Winslow High School in the class of 1934, and studied music at the University of Arizona from 1936 to 1937.
In 1938, Bob married Harriet Richardson at the Trinity Cathedral in Phoenix. After working on the Santa Fe Railroad for 9 years as a brakeman and conductor, he returned to school at University of California San Francisco to study dentistry, graduating in the class of 1954. Bob had a lifetime love of music, singing and playing clarinet in a band for twenty years. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church for many years, where he sang in the choir, and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. He also enjoyed golf, skiing, traveling with his wife, and spending time with family and friends. Bob and Harriet celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 20, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristen, and is survived by his wife Harriet; son, Dr. Gary Brennan, and daughter-in-law Evie; grandchildren Carrie, Kelly and John; step-grandchildren Robert, Richmond and Tamara; brothers John Brennan, of St. Louis, Mo., and William Brennan of Yuma, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2003. at Messinger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road.
Services will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central Avenue at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2003. Interment will be private.
